March Make & Take

And here is my original.....

We missed Bonnie (she was a bit under the weather), but still enjoyed a morning of making these fun additions to our art journals! 

I had been talking to April about a page like this for our Creators' Circle art journals, and finally had a chance to put one together (she helped me come up with the idea).  

For our March make and take, I sewed some pretty fabric envelopes in three different fabrics.  We attached the envelopes to a page in our art journals with ribbon, and decorated the outside with something to tuck the flap of the envelope under.  Then, we typed lyrics to our current favorite song on a piece of paper.  The idea is that your favorite song changes throughout the year, and when you look at this page, you remember that time in your life.  

For the titles of our songs, we made little banners that were sewn onto our lyric sheet.  Everyone made something different, and I love them all!!!

Layouts from our November Meeting!!!

I am so excited to finally show the world all the amazing layouts created by our group!!! Our meeting in November was amazing.....we ate frosted sugar cookies in the shape of leaves, April provided a totally fun make & take, and we shared our creative ideas and projects.....here they are:

April always uses the cutest photos of her kids.....and likes lots of color.....her layouts always look like lots of FUN!!!

I love how Bonnie used an opaque white pen to make all the doodles on this page.....just adds so much, don't you think?


*Melanie*
Melanie always finds the most creative ways to use the elements in our kits.....the ribbon, paper mache, and embroidery thread look amazing together......and I love that she used the background paper as the base for her layout instead of cutting out all the little monsters!!!


*Jane*
Jane always finds a way to make her pages more mixed media than just paper.....she painted on canvas, and painted on the photo, for her first layout. For the second, she used a piece of fabric for the background.....doesn't is just add really great depth and texture!!!



*Carrie*
These layouts have woodgrain paper for their backgrounds.....it is not a wood table, I promise. They are simple, but have a couple cool elements.....I added some sewing to the plaid paper with white thread for texture, and splattered some navy blue ink just to mix it up ;)

September Layouts

A layout for ME!

At our last meeting, Carrie made me this wonderful layout...
I sent her a picture of my sister and I that I love. She and I, during one of her summer visits, we went to Point Loma to see the waves wash against the cliffs.
As always, Carrie made me this AMAZING layout! It's simple, yet beautifully detailed. She layered all these ribbons and lace.
